Video Armed Display — Apple TV Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 8, 2026

Video Armed Limited ("Video Armed," "we," "our," or "us") provides the Video Armed Display app for Apple TV. This policy explains how the Apple TV app handles information when it is paired with a compatible Video Armed recorder or the Video Armed cloud service.

This app-specific policy concerns the Apple TV app. Use of this website is covered by our general Privacy Policy.

Information handled by the app

The app handles only the information needed to pair and operate a security display:

  • Display and device identifiers. The app creates a random device identifier and receives a display-station identifier when it is paired. These identifiers associate the Apple TV with the account, recorder, cameras, views, and display programs authorized by the person who pairs it.
  • Pairing and authentication information. The app uses a temporary pairing code and stores the assigned service or recorder address, display-station identifier, connection mode, and authentication token in the app's protected local storage. Short-lived access tokens are used to establish authenticated connections.
  • Device and operational information. To select compatible video streams and keep the display available, the app may send the Apple TV model, tvOS and app versions, screen resolution, memory and supported video codecs, connection status, and playback status. Playback reports may include identifiers for the authorized camera, view, scene, asset, or display program currently shown. They do not include authentication tokens, stream URLs, or video contents.
  • Authorized video and display content. The app receives and displays live video, images, videos, messages, and alert information selected by an authorized user or assigned display program. The Apple TV app does not use the Apple TV to create camera or microphone recordings and does not upload video captured by the Apple TV.
  • Network information. When the app connects, the paired recorder or Video Armed service necessarily receives network request information such as an IP address, connection time, and security or error information. This information may be retained in operational and security logs as needed to provide and protect the service.

The app does not directly request a person's name, email address, phone number, contacts, precise location, photos, or payment information. It does not include third-party advertising or analytics SDKs and does not track users across apps or websites.

How information is used

We use the information described above to:

  • generate and complete pairing requests;
  • authenticate the Apple TV to the paired recorder or cloud service;
  • provide authorized live video, alerts, images, videos, views, and programs;
  • support remote display control, reconnection, compatibility selection, and troubleshooting;
  • show display and playback status to authorized operators; and
  • prevent abuse and protect the security and reliability of the service.

Sharing and disclosure

Information is exchanged with the customer-owned Video Armed recorder and, when cloud mode or cloud fallback is used, Video Armed's service infrastructure. We may use service providers that process information on our behalf under confidentiality and data-protection obligations. We may also disclose information when required by law or when reasonably necessary to protect users, customers, Video Armed, or the public.

We do not sell personal information. We do not share information for targeted advertising, cross-app tracking, or data-broker purposes.

Storage and retention

Pairing information is stored locally while the Apple TV remains paired. Using the app's Unpair control removes the local recorder address, display-station identifier, authentication token, connection mode, and cloud connection information. The app's random device identifier remains in the app's local storage so the device can request a new pairing code; removing the app clears the app's local storage.

Server-side display-station records are retained while needed to provide the paired display, maintain security and operational records, meet contractual requirements, or comply with law. Authorized account holders may request that a display be unpaired or that associated records be deleted, subject to legal and security retention requirements.

Security

Public internet connections use encrypted transport and authenticated access. The app may also connect directly to a customer-owned recorder on the local network. We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the information handled, but no transmission or storage method can be guaranteed completely secure.

Your choices and rights

An authorized user can unpair the Apple TV from the app's remote controls or from the Video Armed management service. A user can also remove the app to clear its local data. Depending on applicable law, a person may request access, correction, deletion, or restriction of personal information associated with a display station by contacting us. We may need to verify the requester's identity and authority over the relevant account or display.

Children's privacy

Video Armed Display is a business security product and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the Apple TV app.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the app, service, or legal requirements change. The latest version will show its updated date.
